What is Omega-3?
Omega-3 is a fatty acid - aka the good kind of fat. This fatty acid helps our bodies function normally and has been linked to some very powerful health benefits. The two types of Omega-3 included in Oh-so-good Omega are called DHA and EPA, both of which are found primarily in fish - and not just any fish - the fatty fish. The list of “fatty fish” includes anchovies, mackerel, sardines, bluefish, herring, salmon, tuna, and more. In other words, the kind of fish you wouldn’t want to heat up in the work microwave.
Do I really need Omega-3?
As with any supplement, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider prior to taking. However, the American Heart Association recommends consuming fish (fatty fish) a minimum of two times every week for the benefits of the Omega-3s. A recent study also found that nearly 90% of Americans are not getting the recommended amount of Omega-3.
